Actress Kangana Ranaut who recently wrapped up her movie Emergency recently revealed through a social media post that she has mortgaged her home and office property to finance the film. The actress who is producing the movie based on former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi through her production house Manikarnika Films, however, has now made it a point to clear misconceptions that have spread after she made the revelations.
Kangana who recently marked her return on Twitter, two years after her account being shut down, wrote in tweet that she invested all her money from mortgaging her properties into making a film that celebrates the constitution of India. Kangana’s tweet which was in reply to a user then gave way to several concerns where her fans and followers worried if the actress is facing financial difficulties.
A user, also asked for her bank account details to come to her aid by crowdsourcing funds which is when the actress clarified that mortgaging her properties doesn’t mean she’s broke. Kangana wrote, “No no investing all your earnings in a project or start up is not same as going broke … if I have invested hundred crores I also have an asset of the same value ( movie Emergency) which is capable of making 3-4 times more money also … but thanks for asking 🙂”

Kangana will be seen playing former PM Indira Gandhi in the film which she has also directed. She has been sharing regular updates from the sets of the shoot for weeks now and recently also announced that the project is all wrapped up on the production level.
A wrap up party was also hosted for the Emergency team which Kangana attended. The movie will now go through post-production and release in cinemas on 20 October 2023. The movie also stars Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Choudhary and Bhumika Chawla.
