Exclusive- Sadia Khateeb says Raksha Bandhan co-star Akshay Kumar treated 'all of us as his little sisters'

After impressing her fans with her hard-hitting performance in her debut film Shikara (2020), Sadia Khateeb will soon be seen in the film Raksha Bandhan alongside Akshay Kumar . In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, the actress spoke about working with the superstar in the movie. She said that there was no room for nervousness or intimidation as Akshay had made her and the rest of the star cast feel extremely comfortable.

When we asked her if she was a little nervous initially about sharing the screen space with Akshay Kumar, Sadia Khateeb said, “Absolutely not. He made us feel so comfortable and there was no feeling as such of being nervous or intimidated. From day one to the last day of the shoot, I didn't feel like I was working with 'The Akshay Kumar', he was all the time in his character of that of my brother and that's how he made me feel. He was all hearts and he made everyone feel so comfortable. He treated all of us as his little sisters. There was no feeling of being nervous or intimidated.”

The movie Raksha Bandhan revolves around the beautiful relationship between a brother and his four younger sisters. Sadia Khateeb furthermore told us that her own strong relationship with her siblings helped her to perform her role even better. Sadia said, “Yes totally. The film is totally on the relationship between siblings and my bond with my brothers and sisters is extraordinary. The reason why I'm in Mumbai is due to my brother who's my pillar. My sister is my strength so all these factors were already there and so it was much easier to portray it onscreen. When you already have a relationship like that in your real life.”

Talking about the movie, it also stars Bhumi Pednekar , Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, and Seema Pahwa in the lead roles. Raksha Bandhan has been directed by Aanand L Rai . It is scheduled to be released on August 11, 2022.
