'Desperation on another level': Divya Agarwal's open letter to Anurag Kashyap isn't going down well with netizens

Divya Agarwal on Wednesday unabashedly asked filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for work in an open letter on her social media handle. She shared a video message wherein she expressed how she was overwhelmed by his workshop at Prithvi theatre. She further urged the filmmaker to give her a chance to audition if not a web show or a movie offer. However, her idea of reaching out to the filmmaker through social media didn’t go down well with the netizens. Some even called her desperate, and others trolled her for overacting.

In the video, Divya began by saying that she has worked a lot in her career span of 15 years in the entertainment industry. “I have worked a lot, even getting more offers to maybe do another reality show, serials, etc. But enough. I want to do something that has my heart in it. I saw you in a workshop at Prithvi Theatre and since then I just want to work with you. I am taking full advantage of my social media and hope this message reaches you."

She continued, “I am not asking you to give me a lead role in a web show or a movie but give me a chance to audition. I am ready to give 10-20-30 auditions in a day but show me the path. I want the work that you are doing. New Year, new me, very blunt, hoping to see you soon sir." Sharing the video message, she wrote, "This is an open letter to @anuragkashyap10. Call me stupid I'm going to say it anyway! Kaam Mangungi sabke saamne mujhe koi sharam nahi ! #hopeful #grateful (I will ask for work in front of everyone, I am not ashamed).”

Soon after, Divya’s industry friends including Pavitra Punia, Tanuj Virwani, Nyraa Banerjee, and Krissan Barreto, among others praised her for her 'guts'. On the other hand, trolls spammed the comment section with harsh reactions. One user wrote, “Ye koi tarika hai bheek magne ka” Another commented, “tu hi toh bolti thi BB OTT mein ki mujhe kaam ki zaroorat nhi chahat hai, ab kya hogya! LOL”. “steel face with zero talent…,” slammed another. “So never done auditions but wants to work with AK , never got to act or play in theatre but want to work with AK ... All her career is made up coz OTT and reality shows but don't want to work there ... Crying for work on social media but Khairaat nahi chaiye. Interesting ( AAKHIR KEHNA KYA CHAHTE HO),” commented one of the trolls.

Meanwhile, Divya recently featured in the song, Resham Ka Rumal. She has featured in several reality shows including Bigg Boss and MTV Splitsvilla and MTV Ace of Space in the past. She made her acting debut with the horror web series 'Ragini MMS Returns 2' and has worked in other series including Cartel , Abhay , and many music videos.
