Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary today (November 14). On this day, the couple tied the knot in the picturesque location of Lake Como, Italy. Here is a look at their relationship timeline which was nothing short of a beautiful fairytale.

Talking about the same, it all started after their first script reading session at director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house for the movie Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela in 2012. It was literally love at first sight for Ranveer as he recalled in Koffee With Karan 8. The duo shared an infectious chemistry in the movie and their onscreen kiss stretched a little far too much even after the shot was over. Soon rumors started doing the rounds that the two might have started dating while working together in the movie. However, as Deepika revealed, and created quite an uproar on social media, she was a little hesitant about committing fully to a relationship during that time.

But as they say, what is meant to be will find its way. Ranveer and Deepika soon started dating even though they preferred keeping it under wraps from the public glare. However, their love and affection for each other during the promotion of their second film Bajirao Mastani was very much the sign that Cupid’s arrows have struck. Apart from this, Ranveer was also seen on the sets of Deepika’s films occasionally. It was in 2015 that the Gully Boy actor proposed to her in the Maldives. While Ranveer’s family was overjoyed, it took a little bit of convincing for the Padukone clan but in the end, it all came together.

Ranveer also hosted a screening for Deepika’s debut Hollywood film XXX: Return Of The Xander Cage in 2017. After fueling a lot of speculations, the couple finally announced on October 21, 2018, that they were going to get married on November 14 and 15, 2018. Their union was nothing less than a fairytale with their wedding pictures setting the internet in a frenzy.

Since then Deepika and Ranveer have always been sheer couple goals. They have also remained unfazed by the excessive trolling, especially after the recent Koffee With Karan 8 episode. As they say, there’s no stopping for a couple who brave the storm together.
