Filmmaker David Dhawan’s collaboration with Bollywood actor Govinda on films like Hero No. 1, Shola Aur Shabnam, Deewana Mastana, and Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, among many others, is considered one of the best in Bollywood. They delivered several blockbuster hits together and formed a long-lasting friendship.
David recently spoke about his old friend Govinda in The Invincibles Series with Arbaaz Khan Season 2 and said that he was the only one who could handle the actor back in the day.

During the conversation, host Arbaaz pointed out that David has done 16-17 films with Govinda. Asked about their successful collaboration, the filmmaker said that he was the only one who could work with Govinda because the actor had a lot of respect for him.
Arbaaz also noted that Govinda was known to arrive late on the sets of his films and asked David if he also faced that. The director said that he would get his work done for the day, even if Govinda was late.
How David Dhawan convinced Salman Khan to star in Partner
David then went on to reveal to Arbaaz how he got Salman Khan to star in his 2007 film, Partner, along with Govinda. It turns out that Sohail Khan had met David, saying that he wanted to cast Salman Khan and Govinda together in a film. Salman was not very keen, but it was David who convinced him to do Partner. David had said to Salman, “Come on, yaar, let’s do this. It will be the next big thing.”
