Cuttputli: Rakul Preet Singh rubbishes rumours of boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani's hand in getting her role in Akshay Kumar starrer crime thriller

For the first time, Rakul Preet Singh is all set to feature opposite Akshay Kumar in the crime thriller Cuttputli. Directed by Ranjeet M Tiwari and produced by Jackky Bhagnani ’s Pooja Entertainment, the film’s trailer was recently unveiled at a press conference in Mumbai. During the media interaction, Rakul clarified that her boyfriend and Cuttputli’s producer Jackky had no role in selecting her for the upcoming movie.

Rakul was speaking at the trailer launch which was attended by Akshay, along with other cast members including Chandrachur Singh and Sargun Mehta. She revealed that the film offer didn’t come to her from her boyfriend but from the director himself. She added that Jackky was not even aware of the development.

of the film was unveiled today at a press conference held in Mumbai. Since Rakul is starring in her boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani’s production banner, the actress shared that the film didn’t come to her via the former, but director Ranjit M Tewari instead. “Mujhe ye film director [Ranjit M Tewari] ke taraf se aayi thi and Jackky [Bhagnani] ko baad mein pata chala tha ki meri baat hui hain film ke baare mein.” she said.

Furthermore, the Runway 34 actress said that it was the film’s script and her character that intrigued her to take up the role. Also, it was her dream of working with Akshay that made her say yes to the movie. “Jo adaptation hain, jis tarah se role hain, jo kahani hain, wo bohot pasand aayi thi.It was more or less an instant yes because mujhe Akshay Sir ke saath bhi kaam karna tha. That was one of my biggest dreams to work with him.”

Meanwhile, Rakul and Jackky went public with their relationship last year on the former’s 31st birthday. In an old interview, Rakul had mentioned that she doesn’t want her relationship to become a talking point instead her work should speak. Besides Cuttputli, the actress will next be seen in Chhatriwali, Doctor G, and Thank God.
