Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is overjoyed after his younger brother Pawan Kalyan registered a thumping political victory in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. Pawan won the Pithapuram assembly seat, defeating Vanga Geetha Viswanatham of the YSRCP party.
Pawan's victory has come after years of struggle to find a foothold in electoral politics. His alliance with the TDP and BJP has proven crucial, with the potential to shape and change politics not just at the state level, but nationally.

"My dear Kalyan babu, thrilled by the massive & fantastic mandate by the people of Andhra Pradesh. You truly are the Game Changer of these elections. You are the Man of The Match! Your deep concern for the people of AP, your foresight, your heartfelt desire for the state’s development, your sacrifices, and your political strategies have manifested in this terrific result. I am simply proud of you! Heartiest congratulations! With your honesty, sincere efforts, and able support, I am sure you will help put the state on the path of unprecedented growth and serve the people exceptionally well. Love & blessings!" tweeted Chiranjeevi.
Before Pawan, Chiranjeevi also made quite a mark in Indian politics. In 2008, Chiranjeevi launched the Praja Rajyam Party and saw significant success. In 2011, he merged with the Congress and served under the UPA 2 as a central minister. After the 2014 defeat of the Congress-led UPA, Chiranjeevi withdrew completely from active politics.
Chiranjeevi refrained from taking part in elections until recently. He made an exception for his brother Pawan and gave his endorsement to him in public events.
Chiranjeevi, however, seemingly has no desire to return to politics as he continues to remain a force to reckon with in the Telugu film industry with back-to-back hits.
