Ayushmann Khurrana quits Border 2?
If reports are to be believed, then Ayushmann has walked out of Sunny Deol’s sequel to Border, Border 2. Reports reveal that Ayushmann backed out of the project because he reportedly wasn’t convinced about being a part of an ensemble led by Sunny.
Although the makers have not released any official statements yet, a source close to the makers told Mid-Day, “Ayushmann was in talks to play a soldier in the (Border) sequel. While both Ayushmann and the makers were keen on collaborating, the actor felt unsure of his positioning in an ensemble led by Sunny, (who is) a towering star in his own right.”
Earlier, it was revealed that popular Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is also in talks with the makers of Border 2.
Border 2 in making
For those who are unaware, Border 2 is the sequel to Sunny's 1997 hit film, in which he played Major Kuldip Singh Chanduri. The sequel will star Sunny as an army officer again, creating buzz among fans. The reports reveal that the film will be directed by Anurag Singh.
Speaking about the film, Sunny told Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, “I’ve also heard that they’re making Border 2. We were meant to start it a lot earlier, in 2015. But then my films flopped, so people were scared to make it then. Now, everyone wants to make it. I feel like doing it, but the story should lend a justification to that character. So that those who come to watch the film and hope it’ll be fun, they’re not disappointed, like they’re having that fun in my film Gadar 2.”
