Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: Tabu rejects Kartik Aaryan starrer sequel despite a hefty sum? Deets inside

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was a blockbuster and the audience raved about Kartik Aaryan and Tabu’s stellar performance. After tremendous success, the makers announced the third instalment of the franchise with director Anees Bazme. Kartik has already given his go-ahead, however, Tabu has turned down the sequel as per reports.

 According to Etimes, the makers approached Tabu for the role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa as they felt that her pair with Kartik did wonders for the second part. However, the actress rejected the offer despite a handsome paycheck. "The makers were so keen on getting her on board, she was offered a hefty sum. But despite that, she said no. "Manjulika’s role is very close to Tabu’s heart but she isn’t very keen on stepping into the same role so soon. She wants to wait for a while before she inhabits the role again. Whereas the makers are keen on taking the film on the floor soon,” told the source to the news portal.

In March 2023, Kartik shared a video, announcing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, in which he is heard saying, “Kya laga kahani khatam ho gayi hai? Darwaje toh bandh hotein hi hai taki ek din phir se khul sake (Did you think the story ended here? Doors are often shut so that they can be opened once more).” Sharing the spooky video, he wrote, “Rooh Baba Returns Diwali 2024.”

For the unversed, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 features Tabu in a dual role as Manjulika and Anjulika. Besides her and Kartik, the comedy-drama also features Kiara Advani, Sanjay Mishra and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. Upon release, the film amassed a worldwide gross collection of Rs 266.88 crore and emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.

Meanwhile, Tabu was last seen in Drishyam 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna. She also appeared in Vishal Bhardwaj’s web film Khufiya co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi and Ali Fazal. Up next, she will be seen sharing the screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon in The Crew.
