The movie will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is touted to be a reboot of the 1998 film by the same name. However, there have been rumors doing the rounds that the action flick might have been shelved and recently the director addressed the same.
Well, those who were worried about the movie to have been shelved, need not worry since the filmmaker has totally rubbished these rumors. Talking to Hindustan Times about the same, Ali Abbas Zafar said, “This is absolutely baseless. We are very much on track and there’s no truth to the shelving rumors.”
Ali Abbas Zafar furthermore stated that the team of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has been extensively working on its pre-production stage. The director stated that a movie of this huge scale requires at least a month of pre-production. The film will reportedly go on floors either by the end of this year or by the beginning of 2023.
The director was further quoted to reveal, “We are currently working on the pre-production. I don’t know where these rumors are coming from. For a film of this large scale, months of pre-production are needed. We will go on floors by the end of this year or early next year and shoot in the UK.” For the unversed, the speculations regarding the shelving of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan started doing the rounds after controversial producer and film critic Kamaal R Khan aka KRK claimed that Ali Abbas Zafar has decided not to make the project.

The announcement teaser which was earlier revealed in February showed Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff punching the baddies and later joining hands with each other on a mission. The movie will be released on Christmas 2023. There has been no development yet regarding the female protagonists of the film.
