Ayushmann Khurrana's father and renowned astrologer Acharya P Khurana passes away in Punjab

Ayushmann Khurrana’s father and renowned astrologer Acharya P Khurana has passed away. He died in Mohali, Punjab due to a prolonged ailment. His family has also released an official statement regarding the same.

The statement of the Khurrana family read, “It’s with our deep sadness to inform you that Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurana’s father, Astrologer P Khurana passed away this morning at 10:30 am in Mohali, owing to a prolonged incurable ailment. We are indebted for all your prayers and support during this time of personal loss”.

Acharya P Khurana was well-known in Punjab for his glorious contribution to the field of astrology. He also authored some books based on the subject of astrology. In an earlier interaction with Hindustan Times, the Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan actor had said, “I don’t believe in astrology, but my father has been my life coach and mentor. He always used to tell me ‘beta public ki nabz pakdo’ (Catch people’s pulse) and I just did that.”

He had also penned a heartwarming note dedicated to his father sometime back on his social media handle. It read, “We got it from him. The discipline. The love for music, poetry, films and art. He studied law but was always intrigued by astrology. He’s the reason behind the double Ns and double Ns and double Rs in my name. At the same time he also taught us that we have the ability to carve out our own destiny and our good karma can supersede any soothsayer. My friend, philosopher and guide. My father.”

The late astrologer’s last rites will be performed at Manimajra cremation ground in Chandigarh at 5.30 pm on Friday, May 19. He had been hospitalized two days ago after suffering a heart attack. Desimartini offers its condolences to the entire family.
