In 2017, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma tied the knot with Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in Italy. Fans felt they defined the phrase ‘power couple’ thanks to the heights they had reached in their respective careers. Well, three years later the love birds announced that they are expecting their first child together. In January 2021, they were blessed with a baby girl who they named Vamika. Anushka, who has been on a break since her last film Zero, has been spending all her time with her daughter. But she is now all set to return to the big screen.
While it isn’t easy being a working mother, the role has many perks! In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, when the actress was asked what brings her ‘undiluted happiness’, she replied, “When my daughter tries to make me laugh. And when she sees that she has made me laugh, she repeats the action over and over, to make me laugh again. She's so young and tries so hard..And when I begin laughing, she enjoys it tremendously..this simple act really touches me.”
Anushka went on to share that striking a work-life balance is harder for women. She explained, “I don’t think people understand the life and emotions of a working mother, because the world is so male-dominated. Heck, I’m a woman; even I didn’t understand it till I became a mother.” Like we said, it’s not easy but it surely is a blessing! And it’s a delight to see women like herself acing it. Well, the actress is now gearing up for her comeback film Chakda 'Xpress, the biopic of cricketer and former captain of India national women's cricket team, Jhulan Goswami.
