During a conversation with News18, when the music composer was asked about his opinions on the Dua Lipa row, Anu stated that he wanted to see this situation in a positive light and called the singer a very talented person. Speaking about due credit, the music composer stated that people should know that the famous song Woh Ladki Jo is from Shah Rukh Khan's film Baadshah, composed by Anu Malik and sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

The whole world, including my daughter, sent me this clip saying, ‘You’re everywhere. Dua Lipa is dancing to your song.’ I was very happy with it. I’ve nothing against it. She’s a great performer. She was terrific on stage. She amalgamated my tune with her performance and the production in a very nice way."
He further expressed his curiosity and stated that he wanted to know the source of the collaboration and if the person got the rights to use the song from the company and if the person had mentioned his and Abhijeet’s names in it. He added, “I don’t know the whole story. All I know is that people are celebrating the fact that my song was used by Dua Lipa so well. People are also loving the production. I love how my tune plays in the background."
