Ananya Panday says Liger is 'full-on masala' film, had fun shooting with 'kind' Vijay Deverakonda

After Shakun Batra ’s Gehraiyaan, Ananya Panday started shooting for Liger, the upcoming action drama alongside the South sensation Vijay Deverakonda . The actress said she had a lot of fun while shooting the film with the Arjun Reddy actor in the USA schedule.
In a recent chat with India Today, Panday revealed that the upcoming film is a masala entertainer. She also spoke about her working experience with Deverakonda. Calling him ‘kind’ and ‘amazing’, she said, “We had a lot of fun when we were shooting in the USA together. We have wrapped the film, and I just wrapped up dubbing for the film. So now it’s almost fully ready. The film is going to come in August and it is a full-on masala film. I think it will make people really happy watching it."
Liger marks Panday’s South debut whereas Deverakonda is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film. Directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar ’s Dharma Production, the film will also feature the American boxer, Mike Tyson , in an extended cameo. The film also stars Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles.
The upcoming film is reportedly made on a staggering budget of Rs 125 crores. The project required Deverakonda to undergo a drastic physical transformation for which he had been working non-stop to pull off the character. In the film, he is playing the role of a fighter and the role required him to learn mixed martial arts.
Liger is a Pan-India film that will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. It is slated to release in cinemas on August 25, 2022.
Meanwhile, Ananya was last seen in Shakun's noir Gehraiyaan alongside Deepika Padukone , Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhairya Karwa . Apart from Liger, she will next be seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gaurav.
