It would be an understatement to say that Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's upcoming movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2024. At a time when most movies fail to make profits, the producers of Pushpa 2 already seem to be making a killing.
Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, who is also awaiting the release of Kanguva, revealed the jaw-dropping pre-release business of Pushpa 2. He noted that Pushpa 2 is a rage in North Indian states, which is reflected in the substantial revenue generated by the Hindi version alone.
"Pushpa 2's non-theatrical market is around Rs 250 crore. The producers have earned this money just from selling the streaming, audio, and satellite rights to the Hindi version," Gnanavel Raja told Galatta Plus.

It's worth noting that the Hindi dubbed version of Pushpa: The Rise was released in 2021 amid no promotions or expectations. However, the response that the film received from the Hindi heartland shocked the Indian film industry. Pushpa 1 debuted at Rs 3 crore in Hindi, with the majority of its collections coming from single screens. The film ended up earning more than Rs 110 crore in Hindi alone, despite the producers making little investment in promotions.
Besides becoming a smash hit at the box office, Pushpa 1 emerged as a cultural phenomenon and unmasked the true potential of Allu Arjun's nationwide stardom.
Gnanavel Raja predicted an earth-shattering response to Pushpa 2, which is written and directed by Sukumar. "In the worst scenario, theatrically, Pushpa 2 is expected to make more than KGF 2. If it clicks, the sky is the limit," he remarked.
To put it in perspective, the Hindi version of KGF 2 earned more than Rs 500 crore. Gnanavel Raja claims this is the minimum business that Pushpa 2 is expected to do in North Indian states, giving the original Hindi blockbusters a run for their money.
Pushpa 2 will hit the screens on December 6.
