It was earlier revealed that Alia Bhatt will become the recipient of the Spotlight Award for RRR from the Hollywood Critics Association the next week. However, no sooner was the news divulged than the actress was trolled brutally by some netizens. The reason behind the same was that she was only seen as a cameo appearance in the movie and many people found it bizarre that she was receiving an award for that short of a role.
Talking about the same, one of the netizens stated, “Winning award for a cameo! Omg” while another user said, “She is a good actress but she was in like 2 mins for that movie so why exactly is she getting an award for that?” and another netizen further alleged that the actress had removed all the posts regarding the film from her social media handle due to her short cameo in the same. The comment read, “She removed RRR posts from her insta as it was 2 min role only and now this award gets for 2 min role..big joke.. paise deke liya yeh award kya.”
Another netizen went on to say, “Whattttt the helll kis cheez ka award her appearance was just for 2 mins or less for that movie she don’t deserve any award it was just a cameo.” Another user said that more than Alia Bhatt, it was Ajay Devgn who should have received an award for the film. The comment said, “Ajay Devgn should have gotten one too then.” While a netizen alleged that the Student Of The Year actress might have paid to get the award for RRR writing, “Obviously its a paid one.”
Apart from Alia Bhatt, his co-star Jr NTR will also be receiving the same award. The actors weren't able to make it to the award ceremony so their trophies will be sent to them via mail. The SS Rajamouli directorial film won a total of 5 awards at the Hollywood Critics Association.
