Alia Bhatt has time and again proved her acting prowess with films like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Dear Zindagi, and Highway among others. While her recently released film, Vasan Bala directed Jigra tanked at the box office, the actress has an interesting line of projects going ahead such as Alpha and Love & War. Joining this line of projects could be Dinesh Vijan’s horror thriller film, likely to be titled Chamunda.
Alia Bhatt to team up with Dinesh Vijan?
After the release of Jigra, Alia Bhatt was spotted visiting the Maddock office, making the audience curious about a future collaboration. Now, it is being said that Alia and Dinesh Vijan are in talks for an upcoming supernatural horror thriller film.
While Alia is currently busy shooting for Yash Raj Films' Alpha, she has allocated her dates till November 2025 to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Hence, the actress is expected to start shooting for the horror-thriller film after November 2025.
A report by Pinkvilla revealed, “Alia has always discussed multiple feature films with Dinesh Vijan and is now on the verge of collaborating with the producer. The actress has loved a psychological supernatural thriller, which could be her next after Love & War for the big screen. The talks are on, and things are expected to be on paper by the first quarter of 2025.” For now, the movie is tentatively titled Chamunda.
Revealing more about the film, the report states that the film is expected to start another universe, running parallel with Maddock’s horror comedy universe including Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thama. Joining the horror universe is actress Kiara Advani who is collaborating with the filmmaker on her upcoming film Devi.
“Alia is excited to partner with Maddock on this feature film, which could start a parallel universe alongside the horror comedy universe comprising of Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thama. The new universe will feature, Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani among many others,” the report revealed.
Meanwhile, Alia is currently busy shooting for Bhansali's Love & War with Ranbir and Vicky Kaushal. The looks of Ranbir and Alia recently went viral from the sets. Their retro looks have intrigued the fans. Love & War is slated to hit theaters in March 2026.
