Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding is the talk of the town. The couple is set to tie the knot in a grand event at the Jio World Convention Centre on July 12. The star-studded affair is set to be attended by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, Janhvi Kapoor among others. According to recent reports, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar will give this ceremony a miss as the actor has tested positive for Covid-19 after promoting his latest film Sarfira.
Akshay to skip Anant Ambani’s wedding?
A report from HT City revealed that Akshay will not be attending Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding today as he has tested positive for Covid-19. The report stated, “Akshay Kumar had been promoting his latest release Sarfira when he felt unwell, and decided to get tested after being told that some crew members of his promotions team had tested positive for Covid.”
The report also revealed that due to the diagnosis, Akshay will skip the last part of promotions and Anant Ambani’s wedding for which Anant had personally gone to invite him. The report concluded, “It’s disappointing but the responsible guy that Akshay is, he has immediately isolated himself.”
Akshay’s latest film Sarfira starring Radhikka Madan released today. The film is inspired by a true story that tells the tale of a man's journey to establish low-cost airline. It is an adaptation of the 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara.
Wedding guests arrive in Mumbai
The wedding preparations for Anant Ambani’s wedding are in full swing. Earlier Priyanka Chopra Jonas was spotted arriving in Mumbai for the wedding, later Kim and Khloe Kardashian marked their first trip to India by arriving in Mumbai as guests of the Ambani family. Now, actor Shah Rukh Khan has also returned to India along with his daughter Suhana Khan who were recently spotted in New York working on their upcoming film KING. In a recent video captured by the paparazzi, singer Rema was also seen coming out of Mumbai airport.
