Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday are NOT playing lovers in their next? Here's what we know about their roles

The buzz around Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday’s collaboration has gotten everyone pumped up. This fresh pairing will be seen in a movie that is touted to be a biopic on lawyer-writer-politician C Sankaran Nair. The duo were earlier spotted shooting in IIT Roorkee. There were also reports that Annaya might be playing the love interest of Akshay in the ambitious movie.

However, now the latest development clarifies that Ananya and Akshay will not be playing lovers but rather their characters will be rooted in a professional context. Yes, you heard that right! The two will be instead essaying the role of each other’s colleagues. Well, now that is an exciting update indeed! Their characters will have a new dimension to explore with each other. The movie has been directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. For the unversed, C Sankaran Nair was a lawyer who had served as a President of the Indian National Congress in 1897. He had also authored Gandhi and Anarchy.

While other details of the project have been kept under wraps, it can be assumed that Akshay will be playing Nair in the same. Akshay and Ananya were spotted shooting for the untitled movie in Delhi earlier in June this year. The superstar grabbed eyeballs when he was seen shooting for the movie in Jama Masjid in the Old Delhi area while Ananya joined him a little later.

Akshay and Ananya had next headed to Haryana to shoot for the biographical flick. A source earlier back then had revealed, “Akshay and Ananya have a long shooting schedule in Delhi. They shot for a very small portion of the film in old Delhi yesterday. They have now gone to Rewari district in Haryana to wrap up some major sequences.” Meanwhile, apart from this, Akshay will be seen in the much-awaited Welcome To The Jungle. While Ananya is gearing up for the release of her Netflix movie Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
