It would be an understatement to say that the commercial performance of "Aadujeevitham" took everyone by surprise. While many expected the film to do well, none predicted its excellent performance at the box office.
Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, "Aadujeevitham" has completed 50 days in theatres and continues to hold well at the box office, despite new releases. According to reports, the film has so far collected more than Rs 158 crore, becoming one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of this year.
"Aadujeevitham" has earned more than Rs 79 crore in Kerala alone and added a combined total of more than Rs 19 crore from the rest of the country. The film also performed well overseas, raking in about Rs 59 crore from ticket sales.

"Aadujeevitham" has become the biggest-ever hit in Prithviraj's career. The film has also become the fourth Malayalam film to breach the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office. Besides "Aadujeevitham," "Premalu," "Manjummel Boys," and "Aavesham" have also tasted massive commercial success this year so far.
"Aadujeevitham" was a dream project of director Blessy. It took him more than 14 years to make this film. The film was first announced by the filmmakers in 2008, soon after the success of the Malayalam novel of the same name. However, the project never took off due to budget reasons.
Despite years of delay, Prithviraj remained attached to the project, demonstrating his commitment to the film and his faith in Blessy. The film finally arrived in cinemas this year and garnered glowing reviews.
Prithviraj also pushed the limits as an actor by losing a massive amount of body weight to play the role of Najeeb Muhammed. His transformation had a tremendous effect on the viewing experience of the audience, making it a huge hit at the box office.
According to reports, "Aadujeevitham" was made at a cost of Rs 75 crore.
