Aanand L Rai to begin shooting for Tanu Weds Manu 3 in 2025? Here’s all you need to know

Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan-starrer Tanu Weds Manu film series is a popular film franchise in Bollywood. Created by director Aanand L Rai, the film revolves around the love story of Tanu (Kangana) and Manu (Madhavan). The franchise is loved by many, and the director recently revealed that he has been getting demands to make the film’s third part. Responding to this, Aanand has shared that the shooting for Tanu Weds Manu will begin in mid-2025.

Speaking about Tanu Weds Manu with Hindustan Times, the director said that he is working on the story, and it is a big responsibility to get the characters back in a bigger story. He said, “I know there have been questions. Where Tanu Weds Manu Returns ended... does it deserve to get a sequel from there? It only depends on the story, nothing else. I am on it, and I will be on floors the day it’s cracked.”

Talking further about his film, Aanand said that if his motive was to make money, he would have started shooting in three months, but his motive is to tell a story to his audience. “If I want to tell a story to my audience for more satisfaction than what they have, then I have to work hard. Work is on in full swing,” he added.

The filmmaker added that the pressure to live up to the benchmark the second part set is real. He said that it is the exciting part of his business that one has to handle the responsibility thoughtfully and not let the pressure overwhelm them.

Speaking about working on another sequel film, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, Aanand said that the film involved two and a half years of hard work. “When you’ve achieved a hit film, it definitely becomes a significant challenge,” he added. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is the sequel to Haseen Dillruba. The film revolves around the love story of Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and Rishu (Vikrant Massey).

The director is also working on his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush.

Tanu Weds Manu released in 2011 and became a box office success, leading to the creation of its sequel film in 2015. Created by Aanand L. Rai, the film stars Kangana Ranaut, R Madhavan, Jimmy Shergill, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhasker, and Eijaz Khan, among others.
