With Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has carved a niche for himself as an unconventional director. The man has taken the nation by storm with his latest release Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri. From his script, and direction to editing, the director has mastered the art of amalgamating emotion with violence. Has son named Arjun Reddy
Sandeep has a liking for the name of Arjun. In the old interview with Anupama Chopra, he mentioned that he finds name Arjun quite interesting and even wanted his name to be arjun. As son born, he named him Arjun Reddy same as his debut film. He married to Manisha Reddy and has two kids, a daughter and a son.
Degree in physiotherapy
The filmmaker pursued a degree in physiotherapy from the prestigious SDM College of Physiotherapy, Dharwad. After completing the degree, he realised that his interest lies in filmmaking. He went to Sydney to pursue filmmaking at the International Film School.
Sugar Factory
Arjun Reddy was not the first script that Vanga was working for his debut film. It was a script for film Sugar Factory for directorial debut which eventually shelved due to unknown reason. He then started writing the script of Arjun Reddy which became blockbuster, and gave him much-needed recognition.
Cameo appearance in Mahanati
A year after Arjun Reddy release, Vanga made a cameo appearance as Vedantam Raghavayya in the biographical film Mahanati.
Assisted Kiran Kumar
In early days of his career, Vanga worked as an apprentice for the film Manasu Maata Vinadhu in 2005 for 25 days. He worked for Kedi (2010) as an assistant director with Kiran Kumar and Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju (2015) as associate director with Kranthi Madhav.
Vanga’s upcoming project
After Animal, Vanga will start working on Spirit featuring Prabhas in lead role. He also has a script ready for an untitled film which will have Allu Arjun as lead. Then, he has Animal Park, the second part to the latest release Animal, in the pipeline.
