Prepare for the return of Lady Whistledown, bringing a fresh wave of gossip, scandal, and intrigue that will leave the ton gasping in Season 3 of Netflix's Bridgerton. The spotlight turns to the dramatic twists and turns of Miss Penelope Featherington and Mr. Colin Bridgerton's long-awaited love story.
Following the narrative of Julia Quinn's Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth novel in the book series, this season promises to deliver a captivating blend of passion, secrets, and Regency-era romance.
Navigating Cast Changes
As Bridgerton's grand ensemble undergoes notable shifts, Season 3 will witness the return of familiar faces alongside some new departures. The majority of the Bridgerton siblings will grace the ton once again, with confirmed comebacks for Claudia Jessie as Eloise, Luke Thompson as Benedict, and Luke Newton as Colin. Jonathan Bailey reprises his role as the eldest Bridgerton, the 9th Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, alongside his new wife, the Viscountess Kate Bridgerton, portrayed by the spirited Simone Ashley.
Nicola Coughlan resumes her role as the devious yet delightful Penelope Featherington, alias Lady Whistledown, while Polly Walker, Bessie Carter, and Harriet Cains return as Lady Portia Featherington, Prudence Featherington, and Phillipa Featherington, respectively.
Returning Legends and Farewells
Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), and Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton) are set to reprise their roles, continuing the legacy they started in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Regrettably, for devoted fans, the absence of Daphne, the Duchess of Hastings, is confirmed for Season 3. Phoebe Dynevor, the actress who brought Season 1's leading lady to life, disclosed this news in January when questioned about Daphne's role in the upcoming season.
In July 2022, the announcement rolled in, introducing three additional actors who are likely to step into the roles of Penelope's new suitors. Daniel Francis (Once Upon a Time) will take on the character of Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) will bring Lord Debling to life, and James Phoon is set to portray Harry Dankworth.
