According to a new survey, Taylor Swift is the most popular musician of all time based on Google searches, closely followed by the South Korean boy band BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan). To identify the most well-liked musicians in 2024, Westgate Las Vegas and the Elvis Historical Experience conducted a study that included both national and state-specific Google searches for Billboard's top 250 performers.

Let's take a look at the top five artists on this list, which also includes Michael Jackson, Eminem, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, and Celine Dion, who rank from 6th to 10th, respectively.

    Taylor Swift:

With 38.6 million searches done globally each month, the American singer Taylor Swift, who just released her album 'The Tortured Poets Department', is at the top of the list. In both the US and the UK, the pop icon is also the most well-liked musician. In fact, amid rumours of her connection with NFL player Travis Kelce, interest in Taylor Swift was at an all-time high worldwide, according to statistics from Google Trends.

    BTS:

With 30.9 million monthly worldwide searches, the K-pop group BTS—which consists of Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jung-kook—comes in second. Even though six of the seven are presently in the South Korean military, they have managed to amuse their fans. Nearly two million of these searches for the band famed for classics like "Fake Love," "Dynamite," and "Butter" came from the United States, the company observed.

    BLACKPINK:

The female group BLACKPINK, which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, is another K-act that came after BTS. They rank third with 29.7 million monthly global searches. Even though the group hasn't released many songs in their eight-plus years of existence—just 32—the members are now exploring individual endeavours and putting out music on their own labels.

    Shakira:

With 17.4 million searches, Colombian singer Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, also simply known as Shakira, is the fourth most popular artist worldwide. With more than two million searches coming alone from the United States, she is the 18th most popular singer among American listeners.

    Bad Bunny:

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny, comes in fifth place with 16 million monthly global searches. Out of them, 4.1 million are Americans. His reconnection with Kendall Jenner has put him back in the limelight.
