What aggravated the matter was that fans of the OT6 lineup sent countless wreaths of white chrysanthemums, typically used at funerals, to the company's building.

Just a few days ago (October 11, 2024), it was revealed that Seunghan would return to RIIZE after a nearly year-long absence. Instead of cheers, the announcement triggered objections from many Korean fans, who prepared message trucks and delivered several funeral wreaths to SM Entertainment.

This sparked significant backlash, with many fans condemning the OT6 supporters (majority Koreans) for their hurtful actions. A heated debate erupted on X (formerly Twitter) between international and Korean fans regarding how to address issues involving all idols.

Even many non-RIIZE fans felt that the situation was being exaggerated and was causing undue mental stress for everyone involved. Mnay stated that while Seunghan wasn't entirely innocent, the methods of protest were excessive.

    About the other RIIZE members:

When the announcement was made, the rest of the RIIZE members were en route from Madrid after their performance at the KBS Music Bank Tour. The group was spotted shortly after the announcement during a layover, and fans were saddened by photos taken of the members.

This sentiment intensified upon their arrival in Korea as media outlets streamed live as a crowd of fans eagerly awaited them. The group's first appearance featured heightened security, with many guards keeping fans at a distance.

All the members were seen wearing face masks, and several had hats pulled low over their eyes. While they briefly acknowledged the media, they quickly made their exit. The group’s departure from the airport also appeared different from usual, as they entered a parking garage rather than exiting outside.
