Meet POW! Rookie boy group prepares for a POWerful comeback with single 'Sunset' and 2nd mini album

Rookie boy group POW is gearing up for a fall return with their 2nd mini-album. The group, consisting of members Jungbin, Yorch, Hyunbin, Dongyeon, and Hong, is the first act under GRID Entertainment.

Before their official comeback, the group will treat fans to a pre-release single titled "Sunset," composed by member Yorch. Impressively, all members contributed to the lyrics of the song, a sneak peek of which was first revealed during their 'POW NOW IRL in LA' event.

"Sunset" is set to drop on September 23 at 6 PM KST, kicking off the countdown to POW's 2nd mini album, slated for release on October 21. So ahead of this, let's get to know these members a little.

Jungbin

Birth Name: Lim Jungbin

Position: Leader, Main Vocalist

Birthday: July 22nd, 2003

Jungbin was born in Bucheon, South Korea, and his preferred musical genres include indie and pop. His idol is IU, and his favourite songs are LeeHi's "BREATHE" and SHINee Jonghyun's "End of a Day." Two songs he usually listens to are RIO's "Heavy Heart" and "Sweetbitter."

Yorch

Birth Name: Yongsin Wongpanitnont

Position: Vocalist, Dancer, Visual, Face Of The Group

Birthday: April 11th, 2002

Born in Phayao, Thailand, he began his acting career at the age of 10 making his debut on the show 'The Sense' (สัมผัสพิศวง). On January 20, 2022, he was introduced as part of Trainee A. Previously, he was rumoured to be joining NCT U while still in SM Entertainment in 2019.

Hyunbin

Birth Name: Koo Hyunbin

Position: Vocalist

Birthday: May 29th, 2003

Born in Changwon City, Gyeongsangnam Province, South Korea, he auditioned for GRID Entertainment in 2021. During his training days, he would frequently listen to DAY6's You Were Beautiful.

Dongyeon

Birth Name: Yoon Dongyeon

Position: Main Dancer, Vocalist

Birthday: September 26th, 2003

He was born in Sejong City, South Korea, and has previously trained with JYP and Fantagio. He competed in SBS's survival show LOUD as a member of JYP's squad. His favourite song is "Control Me" by Colde, and he recommends "And July" by Heize, featuring DEAN and DJ Friz.

Hong

Birth Name: Kim Hong

Position: Lead Dancer, Vocalist, Center, Maknae

Birthday: June 23rd, 2005

He was born in Jeonju, South Korea, and his favourite song is Bryson Tiller's "Exchange". He also practised taekwondo when he was in elementary school.
