The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) returned to New York to honour this year's hottest music stars. Megan Thee Stallion, the Houston hot girl herself, served as the host and was also one of the night's performers. Other musicians who took the stage included Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, and more.

However, among these performers was BLACKPINK rapper LISA, who took the stage to perform her latest solo hits, "New Woman" and "Rockstar." While her fans cheered for her, she also faced backlash from locals who watched the VMAs live.

Many took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to comment that she did not sing a word live and lip-synced throughout her performance. Several stated that her backing vocals were so loud that she wasn't even lip-syncing in time with the words, with some even calling her performance boring.

    About LISA:

LISA took the stage once again to accept the 'Best K-Pop' award for her hit song "Rockstar." The award, presented by MTV legend and original TRL host Carson Daly, recognized her breakthrough as a solo artist, especially given the tough competition from BTS Jung Kook's "Seven" featuring Latto, NCT Dream's "Smoothie," Tomorrow X Together's "Deja Vu," Stray Kids' "LALALA," and NewJeans' "Super Shy."

Although LISA remains part of BLACKPINK, she, along with the other members, left YG Entertainment to pursue independent ventures. For her solo career, she launched her own company, LLOUD. On February 8, LISA announced the formation of her artist management company, describing it as "a platform to showcase my vision in music and entertainment."

In addition to delivering chart-topping singles, LISA is also set to make her acting debut in 2025 with a role in the HBO series The White Lotus.
