Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa are not interested! BLINKs react as BLACKPINK leaves Spotify Global Chart for the first time
BTS (961 days and counting) has now become the longest-charting Korean/K-Pop act of all time on Spotify's Global Top Artists Chart, breaking their tie with BLACKPINK (960 days).
Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo
For the first time since Spotify's Global Top Artists Chart was created, all top singers and groups have been occupying high spots on the list of Top 200. However, on May 8, K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, for the first time, left the chart after sitting at the 199th spot for a while. With this, boy group BTS (961 days and counting) has become the longest-charting Korean/K-Pop act of all time on Spotify's Global Top Artists Chart, breaking their tie with BLACKPINK (960 days).
BTS continues to sit around the 50 to 60 spot, currently at the 53rd position, while BLACKPINK is nowhere to be found. This news has hurt their fandom, called BLINKs, who are now turning to question the four members — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — about their dedication towards the group and the fans. Many are also stating that with just 32 songs in their 7+ year career, they could not expect fans to keep listening to the same songs every day without new music being released.
BLACKPINK discography:
In all, BLACKPINK has only released 32 songs since their debut in 2016. The group only released two full albums in their seven+ year career: "The Album" (2020) with eight tracks and "BORN PINK" (2022) with the same amount of tracks. Their two short albums, "Kill This Love" (2019) and "Square Up" (2018), each have five tracks. In August 2023, the promotional song "The Girls" became accessible.
Where are BLACKPINK members?
The members renewed their contract with YG Entertainment but only for group activies. They have all decided to split ways with the agency in order to pursue their solo projects. Three of the members—aside from Rosé—have also launched their labels.
After Jennie established "ODD ATELIER," Lisa announced the launch of "LLOUD." Jisoo has also dabbled in business, starting her own company, BLISSOO, to promote herself independently as an actor and idol.
Although there's no word on new group music, the idols are looking to be working on their solo songs. However, they are seen appearing on variety shows and attenting fashion shows, brand endorsment deals and updating fans about their wearabouts through their Instagram.
