'JINLYMPICS' takes over social media as BTS’ Jin carries Olympic Torch in France; ARMY beam with pride
The K-pop sensation had the entire BTS fanbase called ARMY waiting patiently either on the road in France or watching glued on their screens.
BTS' Jin as Paris Olympic Torchbearer
Global star Kim Seokjin from one of the biggest groups in the world - BTS - arrived in France, and became the centre of attention when he carried the Olympic torch in France. He was named to represent his country South Korea as one of the Paris 2024 Olympics Torch Relay bearers. The K-pop sensation had the entire BTS fanbase called ARMY waiting patiently either on the road in France or watching glued on their screens.
The fandom could not be any more proud of the singer and soon started the trend 'JINLYMPICS' (Jin and Olympics) on social media, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter). They even shared videos and photos of the Idol walking ever so gracefully with the flame.
He was chosen as one of 11,000 torchbearers, alongside Holocaust survivors, astronauts, prominent athletes, and relatives of victims of the Nice terror incident, for his zeal and dedication. The chosen torchbearers embody Paris 2024's basic values: celebrating sport and the Games, boosting community and collective action, and striving for a more inclusive, sustainable, and just society.
