HYBE treat Kim Taehyung equally! ARMY expresses anger after BTS V's videos get blocked
The hashtag and words HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG EQUALLY quickly gained traction on X.

While issues with ADOR's former CEO Min Hee Jin remain unresolved, HYBE appears to face additional challenges. On August 5, 2024, videos related to BTS singer V, also known as Kim Taehyung, began getting blocked on YouTube. This issue extended beyond YouTube, as fans—known as ARMY—noticed that videos on X (formerly Twitter) were also receiving copyright claims.
Although copyright claims are often understood as a business procedure, fans are disappointed that only videos of V are targeted while videos of the other BTS members remain online. Notably, a video of V's solo fan cam —showing him dancing to BTS' hit song "Pied Piper" from the "To MY DARLING" event, which had nearly 17 million views—has been taken down.
The hashtag and words HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG EQUALLY quickly gained traction on X, with many fans criticizing the label for the unequal treatment of V, a member of one of the world's biggest bands.
This isn’t the first time HYBE has come under fire for its treatment of V. In the past, fans noticed that during the solo activities of BTS members, Big Hit Music, the group's entertainment agency, did not promote V's endeavours as prominently on social media.
This issue became especially noticeable when Taehyung was named Cartier's new brand ambassador. Fans feel that Big Hit did not invest the same level of effort in promoting V's new role as it did for the other members.
Where is BTS V?
Taehyung is currently undergoing rigorous military training as part of the Special Task Force. Recent photos show him training while wearing a 20 kg uniform. V, along with the rest of the members—Suga, RM, Jungkook, and Jimin—will all complete their military service by June 2025. The eldest member, Kim Seokjin, has already been discharged, and J-Hope is expected to be released in a month or two.
