BTS V aka Kim Taehyung
Creating history because that's what he and his group BTS are known for doing, Kim Taehyung, aka V, has achieved a historic milestone with his debut solo album, "LAYOVER." After "Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)" hit 100 million streams, this album became the first by a K-pop soloist to have all its tracks surpass 100 million streams on Spotify.

These accomplishments are even more special as for his debut album, Taehyung did not collaborate with any other artist. In fact, his album emphasizes more on the pop, R&B, jazz, and lo-fi genres, displaying Taehyung's distinct singing style and artistic vision.
Furthermore, "LAYOVER" became the fastest album by an Asian act to reach this milestone, having done so in just 258 days and breaking NewJeans's previous record for their album "Get Up."
Furthermore, "LAYOVER" even demonstrates Taehyung's widespread appeal because it became the fifth album globally and the third among male singers to have all its tracks surpass 100 million streams on Spotify.
When "LAYOVER" was released on September 8, 2023, it was hailed for its avant-garde aesthetic. V even made his dog Yeontan the focal point of both the album covers and the music videos.
The popularity of "LAYOVER" is a credit to Taehyung's talent and the devotion of his fan base, known as ARMY, who praised him on X (formerly known as Twitter) to celebrate the ground-breaking accomplishment.
