BTS' Jin takes centre stage as Fred Jewelry's 1st global Brand Ambassador; ARMY praise 'WWH'

    While 6 of the 7 members of the world's biggest group, BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), had already become global brand ambassadors for various brands, it was time for the eldest member, Kim Seokjin, who was recently discharged from his military service.

    Soon after becoming a civilian again, French luxury jewellery brand Fred tapped Jin as their first global brand ambassador. Following the news going viral, the group's fans, called ARMY, started praising the 'Worldwide Handsome' (WWH), noting that Fred, founded in 1936, chose Jin as their first global ambassador.

    Jin also took to his personal Instagram to share photos of himself shining bright with the jewellery pieces. In the caption, he expressed his gratitude towards the prestigious jewellery house, saying that he is honoured and happy. "Expect a lot of new and varied looks that will be shown with FRED in the future," the K-pop idol stated.

    Valérie Samuel, the granddaughter of the founder and currently Fred's Artistic Director and Vice President, explained the reasons for choosing Jin: "His radiant energy, artistic talents, values, and high standards resonate deeply with us." Jin also shared his gratitude and honour at becoming part of the Fred family.

    After completing his 18-month-long mandatory military service, he was released on June 12, a day before BTS' anniversary. He attended the in-person hug event, meeting fans after a long time for BTS FESTA 2024, celebrating the group's 11th debut anniversary.

    Shortly after, he has been busy shooting various shows. He is set to make a guest appearance on the MBC variety show The Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island.

    In addition, BTS’ agency HYBE confirmed that Jin will become the torchbearer for South Korea at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
