    He was born in Chicago on July 1, 1962. He earned a scholarship to attend Stanford University where he graduated with a BA in theatre. He also attended the Julliard School’s Drama Division. He made his debut in the year 1989 with the movie Glory. One of his landmark roles came in the series Homicide: Life On The Street as Detective Frank Pembleton. He won an Emmy Award for his role on the show. Braugher made appearances in movies like Frequency, Poseidon, and City Of Angels. He married his onscreen wife from Homicide, actress Ami Brabson. The couple had three sons.
