Tyler Christopher renowned General Hospital star passes away at age 50

    Tyler Christopher, celebrated for his iconic role on General Hospital, has sadly passed away at the age of 50. 

    The news of his passing was confirmed by his former 'GH' co-star Maurice Benard, who shared on Instagram, 'It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher. Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.'"

    A Soap Opera Legacy

    Christopher portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on the iconic medical soap opera from 1996 to 2016, leaving an indelible mark on the show. He also delivered an Emmy-nominated performance as Stefan DiMera on 'Days of Our Lives' from 2018 to 2019, showcasing his remarkable talent across multiple soap operas.

    He earned a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal in "Days of Our Lives" and received five nominations in total during his career.

    General Hospital's Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, expressed his deep sorrow in a statement to PEOPLE, saying, "The news of Tyler Christopher's passing breaks my heart.     In 2008, Christopher tied the knot with former ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo, but they reportedly divorced in 2021. The couple had two children together: Greysun James Christopher and Boheme Christopher.
