Tom Cruise and Warner Bros. join forces to kickstart a thrilling lineup of new original and franchise films
Tom Cruise is collaborating with Warner Bros. Discovery to create and produce a series of original and franchise theatrical films, set to debut this year.

The action star has recently inked a fresh agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery to create and oversee the production of cinematic films. According to a statement released by the company, these films will encompass a blend of original creations and established franchise content, all featuring Cruise. The deal, positioned as a novel strategic partnership, entails Cruise and his production company establishing offices on the Burbank lot of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Strategic Move
This marks a significant achievement for Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, the co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group since 2022, who have been actively revitalizing the studio. Additionally, it reflects positively on David Zaslav, the individual responsible for appointing them.

Unlike an exclusive arrangement or a conventional first-look agreement, Cruise's deal is not restrictive. While he retains the freedom to create films with other studios, the expectation is that he will produce globally appealing blockbusters that may lead to sequels, ultimately bolstering Warner Bros.'s financial performance.
Rekindling Ties
In reflecting on his association with Warner Bros., Cruise acknowledges a notable gap since his last appearance in the studio's Edge of Tomorrow, a decade ago. Despite this hiatus, he has left his mark in Warner Bros. releases such as Magnolia, Rock of Ages, Interview With the Vampire, and Eyes Wide Shut. Expressing admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire Warner Bros. Discovery team, Cruise commends their dedication to movies, movie enthusiasts, and the cinematic experience. He eagerly anticipates the prospect of creating outstanding films together in the future.
Tom Cruise is also gearing up for two notable projects, including the eighth installment of the renowned"Mission: Impossible franchise. Additionally, he is set to star in an upcoming action movie directed by Doug Liman, the filmmaker behind Edge of Tomorrow. Notably, Cruise's role in this project will make him "the first civilian to do a spacewalk" outside the confines of the International Space Station.
