Taylor Swift lashes out at Kim Kardashian for 2016 Kanye West phone call: Here’s what the controversy was all about

After winning the Time’s Person Of The Year, Taylor Swift is one unbothered Kween as she went full throttle about her infamous controversy with Kanye West and his then-wife Kim Kardashian. In a recent interview, she recalled the dark place she had been in her life when the fiasco took place. It all went back to when Kim leaked a telephonic conversation between Kanye and Taylor.

Talking to Time, the singer said, “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before." It all started after Kanye had barged onto the stage when Taylor had won the Best Female Video Award at the VMAs in 2009. He went on to say, “I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” Soon after that, there were several reports of a bitter feud between Swift and West. However, soon they were speculated to have buried the hatchet even though the ‘Love Story’ singer might have taken some potshots at Kanye in some of her tracks.

However, Kanye released the song ‘Famous’ in 2016 wherein he made an alleged vulgar connotation towards Taylor. The lyrics read, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? / I made that b— famous.”While this inevitably did not go down well with Swift, all hell broke further loose when Kim shared a video on social media that had a telephone conversation between her and Kanye. Kim furthermore claimed that her former husband had used the lyrics with Taylor having full knowledge of the same asserting that Swift was lying about not having an agreement with her name being used on the song.

But four years later, when the entire conversation was revealed, Taylor’s claims of the video being edited and shared turned out to be true. Well, in the present the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer is letting it all out. However, for now, Taylor’s billionaire status and a fairytale relationship with Travis Kelce truly prove that she is in happier times.
