SAG Awards 2024: Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt playfully tease Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada reunion

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, who starred together in The Devil Wears Prada, had a reunion on Saturday at the 2024 SAG Awards. They came together to present the award for male actor in a comedy series. Streep initially walked onto the stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall and accidentally bumped into the microphone before being joined by Hathaway and Blunt.

As Meryl opened the envelope, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know that thrills me," Blunt jested, referencing a classic line from Devil Wears Prada.

An Iconic Reunion

Their onstage reunion marks 18 years since their collaboration in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, where Streep's portrayal of Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly earned her a SAG Award nomination and an Oscar nomination.

In December 2023, Blunt and Hathaway reunited for Variety's Actors on Actors series, reminiscing about their experience making the movie. Blunt recalled how they had an absolute blast filming and expressed uncertainty if any of them foresaw the film's eventual success. She mentioned how people still quote lines from the movie to her regularly.

Special Moments at the 2024 SAG Awards

Nearly two decades after Blunt and Hathaway starred in The Devil Wears Prada, both actresses have expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of revisiting the beloved film. Additionally, Idris Elba kicked off the show, and Jennifer Aniston is set to present Barbra Streisand with the SAG Life Achievement Award.

The award categories are determined by the votes of SAG-AFTRA’s membership, which comprises over 119,000 actors. According to a press release, the SAG Awards boast the largest voting body of any major award show.
