Kylie Minogue is currently at the peak of her career, and as she reflects on her latest successes, she has a message for women everywhere. The singer has spent several decades solidifying her position as a leader in the pop music world, but in recent months, she has achieved some of her biggest releases of all time. Reflecting on the ups and downs she has experienced, she emphasizes, "There's one of you."
“We spend so much time trying to better ourselves or judge ourselves or whatever. I kind of want to say be the best you, but also you don't have to be the best all the time, just be you,” she elaborated.
Reflecting on the Honor
Reflecting on her time at the star-studded event, where she was honored with the prestigious icon award, Minogue mentioned that despite her success, she always aims to stay true to herself and find a balance. After receiving the honor, Minogue reflected on the award on X as she thanked Billboard for the amazing moment.
Minogue receiving the icon award is the perfect culmination after a whirlwind few months since she released Padam Padam, one of the songs of the summer, and her 16th studio album, Tension, marked her highest-charting album on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in over a decade.
Milestone Moments
A portion of the single's success was credited to TikTok, where it became one of the app's signature viral sounds. Regardless of the method, Minogue attributed her renewed fame to years of hard work, acknowledging the many ups and downs but expressing her happiness nonetheless.
Pop superstar and LGBTQ+ icon Kylie Minogue recently joined the ranks of eight legendary women immortalized with Barbie dolls in their likeness, in honor of International Women's Day and the brand's 65th birthday celebrations.
Joining Kylie Minogue in this illustrious lineup are British acting legend Helen Mirren, Canadian singer Shania Twain, American EGOT winner Viola Davis, Japanese model Nicole Fujita, German comedian and political activist Enissa Amani, Mexican director, producer, and screenwriter Lila Aviles, and Maira Gomez, a content creator from the indigenous community of the Tatuyo ethnic group in Amazonas.
