The Mean Girls movie musical is currently available for streaming, and according to one of its stars, Lindsay Lohan was "pregnant as hell" during her cameo filming. Lohan, known for her role as Cady Heron in the original 2004 movie, makes a surprise appearance in the reboot of the Tina Fey-written hit. In the new film, the actress portrays a moderator at the crucial Mathletes tournament, alongside Angourie Rice as Cady.
The star welcomed her first child, son Luai, with husband Bader Shammas in July 2023. However, she filmed her scene before giving birth. Reneé Rapp reminisced about Lohan's cameo on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last month, expressing her excitement for the surprise appearance.
Behind the Scenes of the 2024 Mean Girls Adaptation
Helmed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., the 2024 rendition of Mean Girls revisits Cady's journey through North Shore High School's cliques as she integrates into the school's most popular group, the Plastics. This adaptation draws inspiration from the acclaimed musical by Fey, Jeff Richmond, and Nell Benjamin, which premiered on Broadway in 2018. Stepping into the shoes of queen bee Regina George, originally portrayed by Rachel McAdams, is Rapp, who marked her Broadway debut in the role in 2019.
Joining Lohan in special appearances in the new movie are Fey and Tim Meadows, reprising their roles from the 2004 film, alongside Megan Thee Stallion playing herself.Furthermore, Ashley Park, Tony-nominated for originating the role of Gretchen Wieners on Broadway, makes an appearance as a new character, French teacher Madame Park.
Mean Girls Reunion
Last autumn, Lohan returned to the Mean Girls universe as Cady, nearly two decades later, in an attention-grabbing Walmart commercial. She appeared alongside original cast members Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Rajiv Surendra, and Daniel Franzese.
The new Mean Girls cast includes Auli'i Cravalho as Janice (originally played by Lizzy Caplan), Jaquel Spivey as Damian (originally portrayed by Daniel Franzese), Avantika as Karen (originally played by Amanda Seyfried), Bebe Wood as Gretchen (originally portrayed by Lacey Chabert), Christopher Briney as Aaron (originally played by Jonathan Bennett), and Busy Philipps as Mrs. George (originally portrayed by Amy Poehler).
