In the second segment of iHeartRadio's 'Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty' podcast, Combs delved into her connections with Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano and Brian Krause.Following host Shannen Doherty's discussion of her own rift with Milano, 50-year-old Combs expressed her lack of enthusiasm for continuing the show without Doherty, 52, who departed at the conclusion of season three.
Unraveling the Past
"You know, Brian and she were in a relationship at the time when all of this unfolded, which, to me, the most challenging aspect was our complete unawareness. It felt like the worst part to me. It was all part of this unfolding plan that spanned over months. It encompassed several months of that year," Combs remarked. "You were in a relationship with Julian [McMahon, who portrayed half-demon Cole Turner]. So you were immersed in that world. Brian was occupied with Alyssa."
Combs shared that she and Krause, 54, eventually reconnected at a panel where she received an apology."Just about a year ago, in France, we were on stage together in front of a large audience during a panel, and he took a moment to pause," she recounted.
A Long-Awaited Apology
Combs mentioned that Krause remained apologetic even after they left the stage. "We got off stage, and he just looked at me and said, 'I'm so sorry. That must have been a terrible time for you,'" she recounted."I mean, it took him about 24 years, but better late than never," responded Doherty, to which Combs added, "Better late than never."
Airing from 1998 to 2006, Charmed narrated the tale of the three Halliwell sisters: Prue (Doherty), Piper (Combs), and Phoebe (Milano). Rose McGowan subsequently joined as Paige Matthews, a previously unknown half-sister, following Doherty's exit. Throughout the series on The WB, Krause portrayed Leo Wyatt, the guardian angel of the sisters.
