'He was complicated and caused pain..' : Matthew Perry's ex-fiance Molly Hurwitz remembers the late actor

The entire world is reeling from the tragic demise of Friends star Matthew Perry at the age of 54. While tributes have been pouring in from the Hollywood fraternity and fans across the globe, now his ex-fiance Molly Hurwitz has also broken her silence. For the unversed, Molly and Matthew broke their engagement in 2021.

Molly had taken to her social media handle to remember her former fiance and had written, “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented. As the Friends reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together. “Fu**, I was so good!!!…See what I did there???” We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical.”

Molly Hurwitz calls Matthew Perry complicated

However, she soon added the not-so-pleasant aspect saying, “But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship. Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace."

According to a report in People, Matthew had earlier in a statement spoken about his split with Molly. The 17 Again actor had said, “Sometimes things just don't work out and this is one of them.” In his memoir Friends Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing, Perry also confessed to not remembering getting engaged to Hurwitz. The actor had proposed to her while in a vulnerable state of mind. He had popped the question to Molly while in rehab and being alone and under the influence of drugs.
