'Perfect Night' snubbed? Le Sserafim fans shocked by top charting song's omission from 2024 MAMA Awards nominations

The annual awards ceremony celebrating the best of K-pop - 2024 MAMA Awards - will be held on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on November 22 and 23. The nominees were selected based on music and promotional activities from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

While most nominations were expected, many fans, particularly the fandom 'Fearnot,' were shocked that Le Sserafim's top-charting song 'Perfect Night' did not receive a nomination in the Song of the Year (SOTY) category. Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed their disappointment, noting that predictions indicated 'Perfect Night' had a strong chance of winning SOTY.

Others suggested that Mnet altered its criteria for the final winners, however, Fearnot's insisted that despite these changes, Le Sserafim would remain at the top. What angered fans even more was that MAMA chose their two latest releases, "CRAZY" and "EASY," as SOTY nominees instead.

this list doesn't make sense at all because what do you mean "perfect night" by le sserafim isn't nominated when it got more points than both 'easy' and 'crazy' combined + it's the leading contender in the predictions
