House of the Dragon invites viewers to choose a side in Season 2, as HBO unveils two distinct trailers on Thursday for the upcoming premiere on June 16. One trailer highlights Rhaenyra, Prince Daemon, and their allies on Dragonstone, while the other centers on the King's Landing faction led by Alicent, her father Otto, and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond.
Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, Season 2 of House of the Dragon will herald the commencement of the Dance of the Dragons, a tumultuous Targaryen civil war.

Rising Tensions Set the Stage for a Deadly Confrontation
Following the Season 1 finale's harrowing events, where Aemond slays Rhaenyra's son Lucerys and his dragon, war looms large over Westeros. With both the blacks and the greens rallying their troops, dragons, and forging new alliances, a brutal and fiery clash to the bitter end becomes inevitable.
In King’s Landing, young King Aegon staunchly asserts his right to the Iron Throne, a claim contested by his half-sister Rhaenyra, who sees it as her rightful inheritance from their late father. The trailers also hint at a return to Winterfell, the wintry stronghold of the Starks, now under the rule of Cregan Stark in this prequel.
Fan Reactions
Fans of the show wasted no time in sharing their reactions to the two trailers, flooding social media with excitement, speculation, and anticipation for the upcoming season.
