Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group confirmed the studio's acquisition of a deal with the duo for an untitled movie, based on an original script by Coogler. While details about the plot remain secretive, it's described as an original genre film.
This new project marks the fifth collaboration between Coogler and Jordan, starting with Fruitvale Station in 2013 and continuing with the Creed and Black Panther franchises. De Luca and Abdy, having greenlit Creed III during their tenure at MGM, maintain a successful track record with the duo.

Coogler and Jordan's Mysterious Collaboration
Reports about the project emerged last month, revealing that Coogler and Jordan were joining forces for a secretive new venture based on a spec script from Coogler, which garnered attention from executives and buyers at the WME offices. Coogler is set to direct the film, marking his first time behind the camera since 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and will produce through his production company Proximity Media.
Both Coogler and Jordan are experiencing a winning streak: Coogler's four directed features (Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Wakanda Forever, all starring or featuring Jordan) have together grossed over $2.4 billion worldwide.
Jordan recently made his directorial debut with Creed III, which not only set a franchise box office record but also received widespread critical acclaim.
