As Taylor Swift gears up for the 81st Golden Globe Awards this Sunday, January 7, there's a lot on her celebratory plate. However, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, might be notably absent from the festivities. While both the pop star and the NFL player will be in Los Angeles on the night of the ceremony, Travis Kelce is likely to miss the red carpet, owing to his football commitments.
Football Commitments Clash
With a scheduled game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are set for a 1:25 p.m. Pacific kickoff. Given the timing of the game and the Golden Globes starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, it's safe to say Kelce won't be making it to the awards ceremony.

Swift's Cinematic Triumph
This year Taylor Swift secured a Golden Globe nomination in the newly introduced category of Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, recognized for her groundbreaking concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Competing alongside are other notable films such as The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, John Wick: Chapter 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. A win for Swift would mark her inaugural Golden Globe.
Having earned four previous nominations, Taylor Swift has consistently been recognized in the category of Best Original Song in a motion picture. In the most recent instance, her folk song Carolina, composed for Where the Crawdads Sing, secured her a nomination last year. Despite her nomination, the Golden Globe for that year went to Naatu Naatu, written by M. M. Keeravani and Chandrabose, from RRR.
