After months without any updates, Disney finally announced that the Han Solo spinoff featuring the adventures of Lando Calrissian will no longer be a series but a feature-length movie.
Donald Glover's portrayal of the iconic Star Wars character was one of the few highlights of the 2018 box office disaster Han Solo movie directed by Ron Howard.
Lando's journey to the big screen
The popularity of the character led to the studio greenlight a spinoff series back in 2020, but there were no updates other than the news that showrunner Justin Simien was let go from the project and that Donald Glover and his brother James are working on the show.
This was followed by months of silence on the project, which led many to speculate that the project had been dropped but thankfully that is not the case and it will now be a big screen experience, however, the project is still on hold due to the WGA strike.

Fans will have to wait till the WGA strike comes to an end to get more updates on the Lando movie, meanwhile, the latest Star Wars show streaming on Disney+ is Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson in the lead.
