Shakira electrified New York City when, on Tuesday, the Colombian superstar delivered an unexpected, free concert on Times Square's TSX Stage. The event drew over 40,000 fans, marking the largest crowd the area has ever witnessed, surpassing even New Year's Eve celebrations.
Fresh off the release of her new album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Shakira performed a setlist comprising its tracks Te Felicito, TQG, Cómo Dónde y Cuándo, Puntería, and BZRP Music Sessions #53, alongside her iconic hit, Hips Don't Lie.

A Record-Breaking Performance in Times Square
During the performance, Shakira was accompanied by dancers and showcased impressive choreography, even playing electric guitar for one of the songs. At one point in the set, she expressed gratitude to the crowd, saying, "Thank you all for being here for me. It means a lot."
Since the release of Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran last week, the singer has been extremely active, unveiling music videos for both album tracks "(Entre Paréntesis)" with Grupo Frontera and "Puntería" with Cardi B.
Reflecting on Freedom and New Beginnings in Latest Album
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, Shakira discussed feeling "free" while creating her new album. This marks her first album in 7 years, following her breakup from ex-partner Gerard Piqué in 2022.
The Grammy winner mentioned that she struggled to assemble a complete body of work because of her busy schedule. She attributed this difficulty to her former marriage, implying that it was a hindrance. However, now that she is single, she feels free and unburdened.
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran represents the 12th studio album from the hitmaker, succeeding 2017's El Dorado.
