In a preview of the upcoming episode of Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays, set to premiere on Thursday on Food Network, chef Alex Guarnaschelli takes on the task of teaching the Only Murders in the Building star how to craft mozzarella sticks.
As seen in the clip, Guarnaschelli prompts Gomez with, "You want to drop the mozzarella sticks in?" to which Gomez responds, "Sure! Should I do it with this?" while holding tongs. However, Guarnaschelli, unsure about the choice of utensil, questions, "Hmm, do you have like a spider?"

Appearing visibly puzzled, Gomez couldn't locate a spider, so they decided to use a strainer, which proved to be a suitable alternative. The Food Network chef proceeded to illustrate the process of dropping the mozzarella sticks into hot oil, noting, “Super easy. You can fry like three or four at a time.”
Meanwhile, Gomez placed several breaded cheese sticks in the pot, exceeding the suggested amount. Guarnaschelli, noticing the mix-up, asked, "How’s that coming out?" with widened eyes and then remarked, “You put them all in?”
"Oh, was I not supposed to?" Gomez questioned.Guarnaschelli chuckled, saying, "No worries. They'll be just fine. Just give it a stir."The two burst into laughter at Gomez's oversight as they transitioned to the next step: preparing a dish with tomato sauce.
