Matthew Perry's death under investigation by Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division, read deets

The world is still reeling from Friend star Matthew Perry’s tragic demise on October 28, 2023. He was found dead inside a hot tub in his Los Angeles residence. Now, the latest report according to TMZ suggests that the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Division is investigating Perry’s death.

This development might come as a surprise since it was earlier reported that any foul play had been ruled out in the late actor’s demise. However, this seems to be the standard procedure when it comes to high-profile death cases. According to the Daily Mail, Matthew’s assistant found him underwater in his hot tub. The 17 Again actor’s assistant tried to lift his head and get him some air. However, as fate would have it, by the time the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and put him out of the jacuzzi, Perry had sadly passed away.

Matthew Perry's death is being referred to as 'deferred'

Matthew’s death has been said to have been through drowning in his hot tub. He was found unresponsive in the tub of his residence in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood after 4 p.m. According to People, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed to them that an autopsy has been done but the toxicology reports of Perry are yet to come. For now, the Fools Rush In actor’s death has been labeled as ‘Deferred’ since it is pending additional investigation.

The report furthermore added that the LAPD has also revealed the Robbery Homicide Division is investigating whether there is any foul play involved in Perry’s death. The Whole Nine Yards actor was planning to open a foundation to help individuals suffering from addiction issues. In his memoir, Friends Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing, he opened up about his own tumultuous battle with alcohol addiction. The actor had almost lost his life at 49 years of age due to increased drug addiction.
