Lily Gladstone is opening up about a current dream she's holding close as her star continues to rise. In an exclusive interview for People's annual Oscar portfolio, the actress shares her desire to someday step into the hosting role on Saturday Night Live.
"That's been probably a dream that I've held on my own," Gladstone reflects on the prospect of hosting the long-running late-night comedy sketch series, which is currently in its 49th season.

Gladstone's Oscar Nomination
Gladstone earned a Best Actress nomination at this year's Oscars for her portrayal of Mollie Burkhart in Killers of the Flower Moon. The film, available for streaming on Apple TV+, showcases her character, inspired by a real-life Osage Nation member.
Mollie's tragic story unfolds as her family members, including her mother and sisters, are targeted by men vying for control over oil reserves beneath their Oklahoma reservation. The Martin Scorsese-directed film also features performances by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Jesse Plemons.
Gladstone's Trailblazing Achievement
Gladstone, of Siksikaitsitapi and Niimiipuu descent, makes history as the first Native American actress to receive an Oscar nomination. She joins a select group of Indigenous actresses to achieve this recognition, following in the footsteps of Merle Oberon, who earned the first nomination in 1935 for her role as Kitty Vane in Sidney Franklin's The Dark Angel.
In 2003, Keisha Castle-Hughes received a nomination for her portrayal of Paikea, a determined young girl seeking recognition from her family in Whale Rider. Prior to Gladstone, the most recent Indigenous woman nominated in the category was Yalitza Aparicio for her role in Roma in 2018.
Looking forward to the upcoming Academy Awards, Gladstone expresses her excitement about being part of such a significant event. The 96th Academy Awards, with Jimmy Kimmel as the host, will be broadcast live on Sunday, March 10th.
